Hello parents and students!
Welcome to a new grade 4 year. While we are off to a late start, we still have a fun and exciting year ahead of us! If you have found this blog, it means that you recieved my letter home and hopefully you'll have an idea of some of my expectations surrounding the classroom rules, homework and planner use. This blog is a great way for me to communicate with students and parents at home and I try and update it as much as possible. You can scroll through and see some of the updates we had from last year (and some things you may be able to look forward to this year), some art work we did and the general structure of the blog. I update homework every day - so if planners aren't filled in or you're sick, it's a great place to check from home!
If you check the "Spelling" page on my blog, you will see that I update the spelling words each week. Students are expected to write their words in their planner each week (and bring their spelling book home for homework), but if it's ever forgotten at home they have the words on here to study from! The current words will always be written on top. You can also use the link on the side to access SPELLING CITY which will be updated with the current spelling words for each week. Students can practice their weekly spelling words by playing games on this website - it's a really great learning tool!
If there's ever anything you'd like to see on the blog, please let me know! I'd love to add some new information to keep everyone updated.
I'm looking forward to getting to know all my students better and having a fun & successful grade 4 year!
Miss. Dreihaar
